How does the durability of PET compare to PA (Nylon) in wet environments?

While standard Nylons (PA6/PA66) are strong, they absorb water more readily, which can lead to a loss of stiffness and strength over time—a phenomenon known as hydrolysis. PET, on the other hand, has very low water absorption and superior hydrolysis resistance. This means PET filaments maintain their mechanical properties and dimensional stability much better in permanently wet applications, resulting in a longer service life for filter brushes.
